About this place
Arriving alongside a sausage, the French toast is prepared from thick slices of bread cut into 2 hearty pieces. The batter carries a gentle sweetness and rich egg flavor throughout, making it satisfying on its own even before drizzling the accompanying syrup. Lighter toast options include a simple thick-cut 4-slice loaf served with a boiled egg, as well as a toasted sandwich filled with an omelette and sliced ham.
For a full meal, the café offers daily specials tied to its limited schedule. Tuesdays bring a karaage set featuring 6 pieces of fried chicken mixed with burdock root, while Thursdays spotlight a ginger pork set made with tender pork belly; both come complete with steamed rice and miso soup. The kitchen also turns out chicken chashu rice bowls served with a seasoned boiled egg and chicken dumpling clear soup, nostalgic ketchup-based spaghetti Neapolitan, and gentle dashi-simmered rice porridge.
For an afternoon break or sweet finish, pair a freshly brewed coffee with apple-packed pie, lemon rare cheesecake, or lightly sweetened shiratama zenzai with mochi dumplings. Torimu opens only on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 11:00 to 19:00, and transactions are cash-only.
